Foul tricks of Regent hospital; ‘ghosts in mustard’
The news of fancy manipulation with human life has also been added to the list of colorful thieves and forgers. The names of corona-friendly thieves have also been found. Those who did not stop stealing charitable aid, rice and relief during the corona period, also forged with the corona test report. People have been deceived by stealing and forging the seals and signatures of government offices without any examination along with the reports of ‘corona has done’ or ‘did not’ with money.
After the worst incident of a hospital named Regent was exposed, the horrible thing came to everyone's notice. Especially after the RAB operation, the whole matter became known. It showed that the hospital, whose license expired in 2014, six years ago, was certifying the Covid-19 as "positive" or "negative" without testing it.
Investigators said the misdemeanors were carried out from the head office of the Regent Hospital, which has been sealed. Besides, raids have been conducted in Uttara and Mirpur branches of the hospital.
It is learned that the Regent Hospital authorities are charging Taka 3,500 for the tests which are supposed to be free. The most heinous thing it has done is to report without testing and to use fake seals and pads of government institutions.
The pads and seals of the government institutions they have used, including the Institute of Public Health or the National Institute of Preventive and Social Medicine (NIPSOM), have been informed that the seals or pads are not theirs. Besides, the hospital authorities are collecting money from the government in the name of corona treatment and also taking huge bills from the patients. A large number of fake certificates of Covid-19 test have been seized from the hospital.
After 4,500 fake corona tests, RAB raids and seals, the Directorate of Health has finally ordered the closure of the Regent Hospital. But till then, the so-called organization of this hospital has committed a heinous crime like spreading corona in the society through report forgery and false reports in front of everyone's eyes.
There have been many complaints about Regent through various media and social media. The picture of communication between the hospital authorities and the high level of the government has come out. The names of a group of journalists involved in the transaction with the Regent have also come up, who are known to all.
Innumerable allegations about the owner of the Regent and the details of the case showed that the hospital is operating freely in line with the political and administrative circles. It would have been impossible to identify them if they had not been caught by the RAB. Being a gentleman criminal, they would have committed the crime without any hindrance.
How is it possible to have the mentality, tendency and precedent to commit crimes without following the law, rules or licenses? Where were so many officers and employees of so many agencies and offices under the government? Year after year, without a license, like a hospital, the Regent has done the deadly work of life and death without paying attention to the laws of the country? Regent has also manipulated people's lives with deadly viruses like corona.
All these are horrible punishable crimes. Appropriate punishment by arresting the culprits is an essential condition of the rule of law. But from the point of view of welfare-oriented good governance, this punishment is not the last word, it is also important to bring the perpetrators behind the law under the law. The issues of laxity and negligence of the concerned agencies of the government should also be looked into.
Otherwise, hospitals, buses, trucks, factories, boats, etc. will continue to play tricks on people's lives without a license. Not only Regent Hospital but many other institutions in Bangladesh are committing such misdeeds with the help of unscrupulous clique.
Especially in a government that is constantly trying itself for its people-friendly evidence, if any person or organization under the umbrella of that government helps the accomplices of misdeeds and causes casualties, then all the efforts in the government will be wasted. Just as arresting and punishing criminals, it is important to take the necessary stern action against the 'ghosts in mustard' who secretly assist in criminal activities. If the necessary strict measures are not taken in these cases, then like parasites, they will continue to destroy the reputation of the government by eating human blood and money.
