16 leaders and activists of BNP were sentenced to prison in arson cases

Two separate magistrate courts have ordered the imprisonment of 14 BNP leaders and activists in arson cases of Rampura Police Station in the capital and two BNP workers in other cases of arson of Dhanmondi Police Station.

On Monday (December 4) afternoon, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Moinul Islam's court sentenced 14 BNP leaders and activists to three years in prison in the case of vandalism of Rampura police station.

The accused who have been sentenced are- Faiz Ahmed Faru, Abul Meser, Helal Kabir Helu, Alam, Sobhan, Kamal Hossain Dulu alias Maura Dulu, Nafid Sarwar Tanmoy, Ashraful Arif alias Don, Moshiur Rahman alias Mushu, Rezaul Karim alias Raju, Main Uddin Ahmed Tuhin, Mirza Hasan Imam Bulu, Ahmed Ali Chowdhury and Didarul Islam aka.

They were sentenced to two years in one section of the judgment and one year in another section.

In September 2018, a case was filed by Rampura police station on charges of vandalism.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Moinul Islam's court ordered 2 BNP activists to be jailed for two years in another arson case of Dhanmondi police station. The two leaders and activists sentenced to prison are Imam Hossain and Humayun Kabir.
